We work closely with a number of educational institutions and organizations to develop tools, enhance research and improve the knowledge base of health and allied health professionals. With the invaluable contributions of our collaborators as well as the participants in our programs, we are able to offer opportunities for every professional to become a more educated and positive force in his or her area of practice.

Caregiver Resources
We collaborate with a number of institutions and organizations that offer resources to caregivers.

Sage for Aging™ is a data-base support service designed for caregivers of increasingly dependent elderly and is available in its beta version at www.sageforaging.com.

Terra Nova Films has a number of videos that assist professionals and lay persons with issues experienced in the caregiving role. Five (5) minute video segments are accessible free at http://www.videocaregiving.org/caregiving.php.

Danville Area Community College in cooperation with CRIS Healthy Aging Center and Active Seniors’ Options have developed workshops designed with learning opportunities for updating those hard-earned skills and providing support needed. A schedule of topics is available here.

Case Management Resources
Participants of the Multi-Disciplinary Certificate Program in Case and Care Management develop resource lists and summaries of eligibility for case management certificates as part of the continuing education certificate.

Active Seniors Options, Inc. has developed programs focused on wellness promotion, effective screening tools and easy interventions, such as Vitality in Aging, Passport to Wellness, and more…available here.

The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Illinois Chapter serves many areas of Illinois, offering educational opportunities and support services. This chapter offers a free downloadable resource, produced as part of a grant project funded by the Retirement Research Foundation. Encouraging Comfort Care: A Guide for Families of People with Dementia Living in Care Facilities is a 21-page booklet that provides useful information to families and long-term care facilities personnel about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, particularly care issues related to the late and final stages.

The St. Louis Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center offer a number of assessment tools and instructional videos on a variety of topics including dementia, nutrition, falls, emergency preparedness and more…available here.

Sage For Aging

As a part of many of our programs focused in geriatrics, we ask participants to create interventions that can be utilized in the Sage for Aging™ program. This implementation of this program is made possible in part by a grant funded to the University of Illinois, College of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine.

Sage for Aging™ is a data-base support service designed for caregivers of increasingly dependent elderly. Specific instructions that target care issues can be secured via the internet based on identified caregiver needs.

The Sage for Aging™ website is in its planned developmental phase and available in its beta version at www.sageforaging.com.
